Meet Our Staff
Dr. Van Kooten
Dr. Van Kooten has practiced at Lighthouse Family Dentistry for over 10 years. Prior to this practice, she owned one in San Carlos. Dr. Van Kooten enjoys many aspects of dentistry, finding extreme joy in seeing her patients smile transform to their desires. Dr. Van Kooten is known for her gentle touch while providing optimum dental care. While not at work, Dr. Van Kooten enjoys time with her family enjoying our beautiful Monterey Peninsula.
Josue
Josue has been in the dental field for 14 years, starting in 2010 after graduation the Mission Trails Regional Occupational Program in Salinas, CA. In which he has enjoyed working with various aspects of dentistry and has enjoyed making patient feel comfortable and well taken care of. As a registered dental assistant he enjoys everything he does in the office like coronal polishing, making temporary crowns and taking dental x rays.
In his spare time he enjoys volunteering along with his wife in the community, going to the beach and traveling as much as possible.
Ernst
Ernst has been in the dental field for over 10 years. His relationship and commitment to our patients is his focus creating a dental office environment that is a pleasant and inviting place to go to, with happy patients and happy staff. As Dr. Van Kooten’s Patient coordinator, he takes care of appointments, treatment coordination, insurance issues, and patient billing as well as anything else that needs to get done. While not at work, Ernst enjoys spending time with his family; cooking, and hiking.
Maribel, RDH
Maribel has been in the dental profession since 1992. She started as a dental assistant in the USAF and became a registered dental hygienist in 2006. She is caring, efficient, very gentle and committed to providing high quality dental care. When not at work, she loves to spend time with family and enjoys gardening.
Maira
I started my Dental journey in 2014 by attending Monterey Peninsula College. I joined Lighthouse Family Dentistry 2015 and Being part of this office is the best. I enjoy getting to know new and returning patients, as well as helping them understand treatment and answering any questions they may have. Love taking X-rays and assisting Dr. V and doing our little magic. We have a professional and fun environment.
In my free time my husband and I love to do spontaneous and adventurous things. Creating unforgettable memories for our daughter. The little person that keeps us on our feet. Keeping us busy and enjoying parenting.
